Jimmy Bullard "wages" at Hull City. Good heavens!
Hull City paid Bullard millions by "mistake".

https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/jimmy-bullard-hull-city-paid-173328431.html

"We had the chat before with the club, he’s obviously gone away to talk to the club, and the contract was £40,000 a week. And I was like ‘yeah, blinding contract, let’s sign it." Bullard said.

"I’ve gone to sign it, I see on the paperwork it says £50,000. So I’ve passed it under the table to my agent, my agent’s gone: ‘yeah, that’s a misprint, sign it

"As I’ve signed it, I blew it dry, and then I read under it as well, another £5000 or £6000 appearance, whatever it was.

"And he’s said: ‘yeah, just sign it, just sign it’, and blew it dry,’ he added.

"This club is chucking it away like confetti, that’s a joke. So I was on £55,000 a week from £40,000.

Haha, has he written an autobiography?

I'd buy it.

Kind of highlights the honesty and integrity of football agents doesn’t it, negotiate a deal, there’s an obvious mistake in the typing, but get your client to sign it and then hold the club to it.

Cunts

Fair play to him.

He left Wigan for Fulham as he was REALLY KEEN to move back to London.
And then left for Hull.
Understandably given the above.
His contract and inability to play for them was as RUINOUS for Hull as Wimbledon buying Hartson from us.

Not being funny but it sounds like it was the first time Bullard had seen the contract, surely you would read it yourself rather than rely on your agent and just turn up and sign the thing. No wonder footballers go skint the thick cunts.

Agents. They're all cunts but its obvious that this agent should be hung out to dry.

'its obvious that this agent should be hung out to dry.'

Yeah. As opposed to the cheap legal team Hull got to draw up the contract in the first place.

Much as I like Jimmy he always strikes me as being as thick as pigshit. All the more reason why this is bizarre!

if a team is drawing up a contract that's wrong its on the. Someone with a legal degree didn't spot it but a supposedly uneducated footballer did.

good luck to Bullard

Sounds like a tall tale to me.

Why should the agent point out the mistake?

Sounds utter bollox to me. Any half baked legally employed individual will have spotted that. FFS the bloody admin team in HR would have.

If there is a scintilla of truth in it, I would point to the agent negociating a side deal the club commuted to the player.

The bloke comes across as a total fuckwit frankly, whenever I have heard him speak, so I doubt he spotted something trained legal operatives did not.

"Amazing contract, amazing. And I’m celebrating to this f***ing day. Thank you Hull City for changing my life. I’m dropping cash everywhere, I’m bleeding cash."

Originally a Hammer or not. Even if it's all fiction,.. What a risible man.

A pal of mine was very high up in the Man Utd takeover deal. Said the whole player contract structure was an absolute fiasco. Every contract different, with masses of stupid add ons negotiated by different agents. Loads of typos and poor contract terms. Said it was like a two bob company.

I was told by an Irish agent, that when hull signed robbie Brady they offered him 40k a week, 5 times more than what he was on an Man United. The boy and his agent couldn't believe their luck.

Re: Jimmy Bullard "wages" at Hull City. Good heavens!
I'm not sure why a legal team would spot it? It's not for them to decide what his pay is and what his bonuses are. You don't mis-type a £5k goal bonus or whatever it was.

Sven Roeder 1:39 Sat Feb 20
Re: Jimmy Bullard "wages" at Hull City. Good heavens!
It sounds like an exaggeration but you'd have to hear Hull's side of the story.
Might not be impossible for a draft contract that included an appearance bonus to be re-used and someone not checking it properly but who knows.

Wasn't there the urban myth of Seth Johnson being on £10,000 at Derby and going to Leeds with his agent saying they were going to ask for £20,000 and have Leeds say as an opening bid we won't pay more than £37,000 per week?

Re: Jimmy Bullard "wages" at Hull City. Good heavens!
I can't see how this (if true), is the fault of the legal team.

Their job isn't to tell Hull what they want to pay, but to ensure they pay what they want to pay.

If Hull tell them they want to pay more than they REALLY want to, it's all Hull's fault.
